A Yorkie Poo is a designer species of dog. That's what they like to call them anyways. Much like a Cock-a-Poo or a Labradoodle. Basically it's a hybridization of the Yorkshire Terrier and the Poodle, to create a new more specialized cute breed of dog. They've become very, very popular lately, as a lot of designer breeds have. They are not a recognized breed by the American Kennel Association. Frankly, they're essentially just mutts. They're a mixed breed dog, to get a certain appearance. Yorkie Poos can vary in appearance widely because of the fact that they are not an actual, technical breed yet. So, the coupling of the Yorkshire Terrier with the Poodle can get a varying degree of results. But they are definitely growing very popular, and maybe in the next five to ten years they'll become more normalized as far as what's specific to look for in a Yorkie Poo. And maybe even recognized by the AKC.
