"What is the active ingredient in Revolution. Revolution is a medication made by Pfizer, which is a leading manufacturer of medications for the pet and livestock market. The main, active ingredient is a chemical called selamectin, which helps fight fleas, ticks, heartworms, mites and some forms of lice. Revolution is the first and only FDA approved topical ointment for the treatment of heartworm. This basically means that it is a oil that is put on the animal, not ingested or injected.
