"What is a Maine Coons habitat? Maine Coons are one of the oldest known species of domestic cats in the United States. They are widely thought to be originally a native cat to Maine. Naturally occurring, some sort of sub-species of Bobcat maybe, or something like that. They, so they do come from Maine originally. That is their home base, so to speak. And as such, they are uniquely suited to living in that climates harsh winters. Their fluffy tails, and long fur and heavy build, help them keep out the cold winters and stay healthy and strong during those times, especially when food may be scarce. So, really, temperate forests and cold winters, those things are a second home to the Maine Coon, well first home, really, originally. Now their habitat for the most part, is your home. So, that's where you're going to find most of them."
