Let's talk about how to stop your cat from shedding hair. In a lot of cats, especially medium to long haired cats, there's no real way to get them to truly stop shedding their hair completely. However, excessive shedding can mean that there's an issue. So make sure your cat is veterinary checked first, that there isn't an underlying condition such as allergies or dermatitis that's causing the excess shedding, also on top of that, the other things you want to do is make sure that your cat is on a appropriate and quality diet, because diet plays a huge role when you're talking about shedding and hair coat in general. You want them to have a nice, shiny hair coat and nothing that's dull and unkempt looking. Also, bathing too much can actually cause more shedding of hair, but using a moisturizing shampoo is just generally going to be the better way to go if you're shampooing your cat to keep that hair nice and moist and intact. Talk with your veterinary clinic as well, there are supplements, fatty acid supplements, that can give that hair coat a nice, shiny appearance, and make the skin healthier so it will retain the follicles and hair, but lastly, probably the best thing is to brush your cat. So this will, you know, brushing your cat will get rid of excess hair, it will stimulate natural oil production, and make that skin healthier, you know there are some commercial products out there that say that they will stop shedding, most of the time what they're doing is just providing fatty acids to make the hair coat better, and most products don't actually stop shedding completely. So talk to your veterinary clinic first before you give any kind of supplement to make sure it's the right appropriate thing.
