"The bets advice I can give you for how to choose a veterinarian is to go and meet with the doctor and follow your gut instinct. You want to see what the office is like, what the staff is like when you go in there. And you want to be comfortable with the veterinarian you choose to make sure that you're comfortable telling them about what is going on with your animal, if some problem should occur. And also that you feel respected and listened to. And that you can understand what your veterinarian tells you. And that you don't feel like they're just brushing you off and telling you what to do. Because in the end, you know your own dog best, and you're going to that doctor for assistance with the care of that animal. And so you want to make sure that you feel like you're being helped. If you feel as if you need some additional information, and maybe your veterinarian isn't giving you what you need, hopefully you'll be working with a professional who is willing to say that for additional information, you would need to see a specialist. For example, a nutrition or opthalmology or some other area with which they may not be completely familiar. Because in the end, what's most important is that your dog is well cared for."
