A general liability policy is going to cover you for any damage to the property you are working on. So if you are working in someone's home and you happen to knock down a wall that you weren't supposed to knock down or you start a fire and the house goes up in flames or you drop a hammer off the second floor on a kid walking home from school. It's going to cover you for those third-party actions while you're doing your work. Remodeling work insurance, same as contractor's insurance is going to be based typically off payroll.
