Hello, my name is doctor David Cathcart and I'm from Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, Missouri. Optometrists make anywhere between eighty-five to maybe as much as a hundred and fifteen thousand dollars a year, and again, those optometrists who are in private practice tend to make a little bit more than those who work for some franchise eye center. Optometrists require a four years undergraduate school, so after high school, you have to go to four years of college, and then typically, four years of optometry school as well. So it's a a, it's an eight year program essentially after you after you get out of high school. Thanks for taking this time to explore medical careers with me. Again, I'm doctor David Cathcart with Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, Missouri.
