"This next segment, we're going to go over what makes snowboard clothing, snowboard clothing. First things first, of course, the most important part, I would say, is the jacket. Snowboard jackets tend to be a little bit more waterproof that any other jacket in the market. Reason being, is when we tend to sit down, or we're in the snow falling, catching air, we tend to be actually in the snow more, than just having snow fall from the top on top of our jackets. Strategically taped seams... two layers of Gortex, or two layers of waterproof material... powder skirts--very important. Whenever we do fall, it tends to keep the snow from jumping up and getting you cold, getting all over the rest of your body. iPod and mp3 compatibility. We like to ride with music, we have the correct pockets, wired to our heads, or to your helmet. Again, a great thing to have. Goggle stash pockets, external pockets, hoods, removable hoods, fleece lined inside. When your jacket is zipped up, it doesn't rub your chin raw, and tends to fit a little bit looser... not constricting. Great for spins, great for take-offs... also, great for hiking. Again, very important is pants. Pants normally have an adjustable waist on the inside, also belt loops. Some also come with suspenders. Again, to help keep your pants from falling too low, again getting your butt nice and wet. Cargo pockets are a big great thing to put your gloves after you're riding, your pipe gloves while you're riding up the lift. And again, most powder skirts attach to the waistline, again giving the feeling of one piece but yet, not looking like a one piece. Big enough flare at the bottom to accommodate fitting over your snowboard boots. Also a gator on the bottom to get snow from getting above your snowboard boot. Gloves again, very important, keeping your hands warm. Most gloves, you have the choice... under the jacket, or over the jacket. Most of them have a snot wipe, or a goggle wipe, whichever you choose. Gortex again, being a great thing... keeping you dry, wicking the moisture away from your body. Great in the pants, great in the jacket, great in the glove. Again, folks, remember, 90 percent of your body heat escapes through your head, so always remember, wearing a beanie will keep your hands and your toes warm. Any beanie will do for keeping your body heat in, but remember, snowboard jacket, snowboard pants, and snowboard gloves are specific to the sport and will keep you warm and dry on the hill, riding a lot longer every day."
