Hey, I'm Ashleigh Gass, a certified strength and conditioning specialist with brilliantathlete.com. So just why is running healthy? Well, one of the main reasons is because running lays a great foundation of general health and fitness, and we all know we feel better when our general health and fitness is improved. Some other reasons why running is extremely healthy, there's actually a number of 'em. One of the first is because it helps to prevent muscle and bone loss. All of us have heard the expression, 'If you don't use it, you lose it.' So when you go out and you run, you're using your muscles, you're using your bones. Your body has to adapt, get stronger. And therefore your general health improves. Another reason running is very healthy is because of the stress reduction involved. Every one of us has experienced what it feels like to train in the morning before we go to work. Generally makes the day go a lot smoother. We've also experienced what it feels like to come home after a pretty stressful day, and just go and train. Makes a big difference. It's also very inexpensive. All you need to run is a pair of decent shoes and some space. So get out there and just make it happen. I'm Ashleigh Gass, certified strength and conditioning specialist with brilliantathelete.com. Thank you.
