"Hey. I'm Ashleigh Gass, certified strength and conditioning specialist with brilliantathlete.com. So just what muscles are worked on the stair stepper? Well as you can probably hear, certainly my heart and my lungs. However, when I really focus on it, I can get a fair bit out of my legs just by pushing down every step through my feet. I can feel my quads, my butt, and my calves doing a fair bit of work, particularly if I maintain a nice, upright posture. I can also make this more difficult by increasing my speed. Now my legs are really working. So the stair stepper is one of those activities that's very aerobically-based. However, you can also turn it into a pretty decent leg workout. So if you're looking to get efficiency out of your training at the gym, good aerobic training with a little bit of leg work, the stair stepper might just be for you. Thanks. I'm Ashleigh Gass with brilliantathlete.com."
