Hello my name is Bill Hager and I am a Licensed Life, Health and Annuities agent in the state of Florida. The question has come up what is the difference between burial insurance and life insurance? Well basically burial insurance is a form of life insurance. Traditionally it is in a much lower face value for the policy because it is designed primarily to cover those final expenses whether they be a funeral service, a cremation service, or whatever the deceased had predetermined to be their particular wishes. I encourage people that in order to find out the proper amount of coverage to research with local funeral directors in your particular market area and find out at least in todays dollars how much is an average funeral or cremation service if that be your choice in your given market area? In most cases a $10,000 or $15,000 face value of a burial or term life insurance policy is more than adequate to cover those final expenses but again you should research and find out what the average cost is in your particular market area through a variety of different funeral directors in your local area. So again burial insurance is a form of life insurance for the deceased to cover those expenses for their final burial procedures. I hope that answers your questions adequately. My name is Bill Hager. I'm a Life, Health, and Annuities agent in the state of Florida. Thank you.
