"Hi, my name is Reka Morvay, I'm a psychologist and I'm going to talk to you about how to flirt on the internet. Flirting on the internet may be a little bit more limited than flirting in real life exactly because you don't get that personal tactile contact, you don't see the person's face and you can't touch them, you can't send out those kinds of signals. Usually when you're flirting on the internet, you are reduced to trying to get your meaning across with these flat characters on the keyboard. Unless of course you have a video camera because then you get the visual aspect but if you're just trying to flirt through text, it may be a little more challenging than flirting in real life. On the other hand, being that much more removed might give you the courage to be a little bit more direct and a little bit more obvious about the compliments that you give or the double entendres that you use online. So these are some things you can use, you can make playful comments that can be interpreted in both ways, you can use gentle teasing to let somebody know that you're interested in them. But you always have to understand that words, written words online, can be interpreted in a number of ways and it is also much more easy to misinterpret or much easier to misinterpret somebody's intentions when you just have the written word and you're missing the inflections and the tones and the - how somebody says something. So you have to be a lot more careful when you're online about how your words are taken."
