Hi, my name is Reka Morvay. I'm a psychologist, and I'm going to talk to you about teenage online dating. Now, with the advances of the Internet, online social lives have become much more popular than before, and it can be very tempting, in fact, to move most of your social life from the real world to the online world. But the online world has many pitfalls. Some of them are different from the pitfalls of a normal dating relationship. So you have to aware that when you are online, it's a different medium, and you have to compensate for the fact that there is much more of a room to be dishonest online that...then in real life. So you have to be extra careful. This gives you extra freedom in a lot of ways, but you also have to be extra careful when you meet somebody online, and make sure that you are playing it safe. So when you are, for example, meeting somebody online for the first time, it's never a good idea to give out any personal details about yourself -- definitely, not any sensitive information like credit card numbers or social security number or anything like that. Try to take it slow, even with online dating, until you feel like you got to know that person. And use some common sense. So maybe if you want to move the relationship forward from online dating, the first step would be a telephone conversation because you can tell a lot more about a person through the telephone than you can online. And then as the next step, if you want to meet this person, try to be safe. Meet in a public location where you're not alone in the middle, you know, of an empty street in the middle of the night -- that's probably not a good idea for a first date with somebody that you met online. So just use common sense when you want to meet somebody that you met online for the first time.
