"Good afternoon, my name is Tom Brintzenhofe, certified master mechanic from Redding, Pennsylvania and today we're going to talk about how to maintain your new car. Now when you buy a new vehicle, a lot of times the dealerships you pick it up at will go over and schedule ahead of time your routine maintenance but if you're not sure and they skip this process when you but it, all your owner's manuals have a section in the back, your scheduled maintenance and how to keep up with your new vehicle. You read through that, they have a specific section in here as to when you get your oil changed, when you get the tires rotated. A lot of your repair shops locally will give you the same maintenance intervals you need to do. The best thing to do is keep your tires rotated a minimum of every 6,000 miles. Keep your oil changed at least every 5,000 miles. Every 15, 10, 15,000 miles you want to check your air filter, your fuel filters, your belts, your hoses. And the biggest thing is get your oil changed routinely. Make sure your tires get rotated at least every other oil change. And that's about all there is to it. With any other specific specialties that you need to do, special maintenance, your dealership should be able to mention that when you buy your vehicle and if you have any questions, give them a call, they're more than willing to sit down and talk to you about how to maintain your vehicle, but the biggest thing is keep your oil changed regularly. Keep your filters up regularly and just make sure your overall maintenance is done, your belts, your hoses and all that stuff every 10, 15,000 miles. But that's all there is to in maintaining your new vehicle."
