How to Water Flowers

"Hi, this is Yolanda Vanveen and in this segment we're going to talk about how to water flowers. Now flowers are such a delight in your garden and in your front entry way or in a container but there's some tricks that you can follow when your water them just to make them look better and last longer. When I'm watering I like to use the nozzle that gives me options. So whether it's a shower or flat or center or a cone or full or mist, it gives you lots of options. and so what I like to follow when I'm watering, is give my plants, the greenery a shower, so I really just soak the greenery, just soak it down. But the flowers, when they're in bloom, I like to give them a mist. Because if you give them a shower sometimes they get beat up a bit. But if you just mist them just slightly, they don't get beat up and they'll last must longer. And even on the smaller plants too, if you just barely mist them, or you could have really delicate plants in bloom, misting is much easier than giving them a shower and it doesn't do any damage. I'm convinced that flowers need showers too. So I've had drip systems in my garden before and then just the ground gets wet. But I found the leaves and the flowers themselves really like to get some water too. So you don't have to water every day. But by watering at least once to twice a week, and really misting the blooms and really giving the greens a shower, you'll find that your flowers will last much longer."
