"Hi, I'm Athena Reich. I'm an actress and a musician and performance coach here in New York City. And we're just blocks away right now from Time Square, the home of Broadway. In this clip I'm going to give you an electronic keyboard review. Now in Broadway shows typically there are live instruments. You can have anything in an off Broadway show, anything as small as just one piano to a full scale Broadway production where you might have a full orchestra. So if you are aspiring to be a pianist in a Broadway production it's good to know your electronic keyboards. This keyboard right here is a Yamaha NP Thirty and I love it because it's only eleven pounds. So it's amazing if your doing a Broadway tour. It's eleven pounds. That is light. Now the disadvantage to this keyboard is that the keys are not weighted. They bounce right back at you. Weighted keys make for a heavier keyboard, about forty pounds, but they have a real feel of a real piano, real acoustic piano. This keyboard has seventy seven keys. A real piano acoustic piano has eighty eight. There are keyboards that you can get that have sixty six keys, seventy seven keys, eighty eight keys, there's lots and lots. And there's keyboards you can get with different sound effects. So this has been Athena Reich in New York City with an electronic keyboard review."
