How to purchase land. When you are purchasing land there's a couple of things to consider. The most important thing to consider is what you want to use the land for. This is going to be very strictly defined at the registry. You are going to want to make sure that the zoning of the land is appropriate for what you want to do. There might be a piece of property that you really like but it's not zoned by the town for you to actually build a house on if that's what you want to do with it. If you are looking to purchase land for agricultural use or for commercial building use that type of thing, make sure these properties are zoned specifically for those causes. So the first thing you want to do get in touch with your commercial real estate agent, your real estate agent if you are looking for a house to buy, or if you are looking for land for building a house. So let them know what you want. And beyond that you can do a lot of research yourself as well, online is probably the best place to do it. Look through the listings there's going to be tons of land listing out there. So really think about what you want to do with the property. Go to the land. Once you find a piece of property that you really like go to it, go there a lot. See where the sun sets, where the sun rises on there make sure that if you want to build a house, that everything is positioned right on the land for actually building your place there. And think about where you want the house situated on there if that's what you want to do. Lets say you make an offer on this land, you get it accepted, you want to go ahead and move forward with the process, you'll have an inspection period just like anything else. Get the land surveyed so you know exactly where the land is. You could pay for a survey, the guys will come out or ladies and they will place pins on the land and let you know exactly where the lot lines are. And you'll have a specific idea of where it is. A lot of times people don't do this and this can really run into a problem. Once you buy the land and it's not in the place that you thought it was. So those are a couple of things to think about when you are purchasing land.
