"How to find property history. If you are buying a new home, this is something that is very important. Property history is going to let you know when the house sold last, how much it sold for. This is something really important to know when you are purchasing your home so you can make a good offer on the place and you can know what to expect when buying the home. A couple of different ways, first off get involved with a Realtor, the Realtor will show you very quickly the property history on the whole place. There is within the MLS system that the Realtor works through there are specific pages and specific data bases that list very quickly all of this information. If you are working on your own, or if you are just researching a home that you are interested in the town offices, the county clerk is the person to go to. They have all of this information on file and it might take you a little bit more time to weed through it all it's not going to be right at your fingertips like it would be if you were working with a representative. But the county clerk's office is probably the best place to go. Like I said when you go have the specific property that you are looking at in mind, let them know what it is and they will very quickly go through the whole, all the motions with you. They'll let you know when the place sold, they'll let you know how much. They'll probably even have pictures of it, of the home so you'll be able to kind of have a good idea of what you want to spend on the place. And lastly this is, this is very important piece of information for to have when you are purchasing a home because it will let you know exactly how much your home is worth when you buy it."
