"If you find yourself looking to get in to the nursing career, there are many different options that you can choose from. Today, we're going to go about different nursing careers. I'm Dan Carlson. I'm a nurse. The first option you can look at, is being an RN. That's usually a two to four year program. That's a Registered Nurse. Then, you can step down a bit, to an LPN, Licensed Practical Nurse, or an LVN, Licensed Vocational Nurse. They're the same thing, just different names in certain states. That's usually a one to two year program. More often, you'll find a one year program out of that. If you're looking to seriously get into nursing, then you'd be looking at a Nurse Practitioner job, which is the equivalent of a doctor, and can do most anything a doctor can do. If you look at options like that, then you're going to have to go to a lot more schooling, usually a four year program, with more specialization after that, but usually, you'll find a lot of people like the LPN and the RN career, mainly. There also are specialists, in which case you'll have to do more, and more schooling, to get into a more specialized career, but there are a lot of options out there, LPN, and RN. The BSN and stuff like that, usually takes longer, but it's a good field to get into, lots of job opportunities, and it's a very enjoyable career. I'm Dan Carlson. Thank you very much."
