"Hello, my name is John Niemira, and I'm here at Steven Henager College, in Salt Lake City, Utah. I'm an instructor here, and today, I wanted to talk to you a little bit about obtaining or buying a franchise. I have been a franchise owner, so I do have a great deal of experience. Franchises can go several ways. You can buy an existing franchise that has been there, and open it, and it's for sale, or you could contact the franchiser, and start a new one. Many, many companies have franchises. The big ones that you know, are McDonald's, and Wendy's, and Burger King, and companies like that. The best way to start, is probably to get online. Look into the company that you would like to open. We'll say McDonald's, for example. Get on their website. Find out about prices, obligations, and resources that you would need. Second, would be to go to a business broker. I did visit a business broker. They do nothing but sell businesses, so they usually have a good experience in the business field, what there is, and the prices. Buying an existing franchise seems to be easier, you know what they've done over the years, you know what their books look like, but if you want to start new and fresh, just contact the company directly. They'll hook you up with the franchise department, and you can go from there, with the application process. For any more information on this topic, or any other business topic, you can contact me directly at my email, jniemira@gmail.com."
