You are starting a business and you're concerned about not violating gender discrimination laws in fact you don't even know what's that all about. Hello, I'm Robert Todd and I'm here to answer the question, what are examples of gender discrimination? Gender discrimination also known as sexual discrimination involves the unfair determination or decision making based on a person's sex. Examples of this include making a male employee who works at a makeup counter work in a business suit even though that male employee is working around makeup and getting it on his personal clothing, while providing special company paid for clothing for the female employees who work at that same makeup counter. Another example is requiring females to work the day shift on a production assembly line and requiring male employees to work on the night assembly production line, even though they're paid a premium pay for doing so. And perhaps the best example is paying one gender or sex a higher rate than the other even though they're doing the same job. I'm Robert Todd and thank you for watching.
