You have been behind on mortgage payments several times in the past several months and suddenly you receive a letter from your lender indicating that they intend to institute foreclosure proceedings against you to obtain possession of your home but you don't think you are in violation of the mortgage or the mortgage laws. You've heard something about a wrongful foreclosure and you want to know what that's all about. Hello, I'm Robert Todd and I'm here to answer the question what is wrongful foreclosure? Well first of all, keep in mind that the law in all 50 states regarding foreclosure is going to be different. So the first thing you want to check is the law in your particular state which will govern the foreclosure in your state. The second thing you want to check is your particular mortgage. Your mortgage is going to define and describe what steps and what proceedings must be taken by your lender to institute a foreclosure action against you. So check the state law in which you live and check your particular mortgage. I'm Robert Todd and thank you for watching.
