"When you financed your house you financed it through HUD and now you like many other Americans are facing difficult times and this has lead to the consequence of your inability to make timely mortgage payments and in fact you've fallen behind and now you are looking at mortgage foreclosure. And you think because you financed it through HUD you may be able to be cut a break or something like that. Hello I'm Robert Todd and I'm here to answer the question how to stop mortgage foreclosure with HUD. Well first of all HUD is the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development. And they don't provide direct loans generally. They provide guarantees or insurance for loans which means that you still had a mortgage or a loan through a conventional mortgage holder. So you might contact HUD directly to see if they can provide you with any assistance that is can they provide any influence to your conventional mortgage holder. Or can they persuade them to renegotiate the loan or perhaps they know of some conventional mortgage lenders that you can go to. But generally if HUD can't help you you are going to have to contact the mortgage lender directly and try to renegotiate the mortgage or you are going to have to locate an alternative mortgage lender to refinance. I'm Robert Todd and thank you for watching."
