In the contexts of sociology and popular culture, the concept of interpersonal relationships involves social associations, connections or affiliations between two or more people. Such persons may interact overtly, covertly, face-to-face or may remain effectively unknown to each other, as in a virtual community whose members maintain anonymity and do not socialize outside of a chat room. The discovery or establishment of common ground between people provides a fundamental component for enduring interpersonal relationships. "Hi, I'm Donna Barnes. I'm a life and dating coach, and owner of NY Dating Coach here in New York City. In this clip, we'll talk about dating a French girl. Now, overall, people are people, so it's the same set of relationship rules. But if someone's from a different culture or country, then it's really nice if you try to learn a little bit about their culture. Learning French would certainly be helpful. Don't expect them to have to always learn your language. It's much more enjoyable if you can try to learn her language as well. And maybe see if there's anything that she'd like to do that's different that you don't know about. Communication is a big part of it, especially when it's somebody from a different country. So ask a lot of questions, not in a way that you feel like you're interrogating them, but just find out what's important to her. See if there's things that she'd like to do and see if she can open your eyes to some new things. And be willing to maybe travel to her home and really make her feel comfortable and wanted, and make sure it's not just all about you and your ways. This is Donna Barnes from New York City."
