"I'm Mike Quinn. I've been an entomologist for twenty years and we're here at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center talking about, "What do beetles eat?" Well, there's over three hundred thousand species of beetles in the world and they eat just about anything that's organic. They'll eat dead wood. They'll eat plant material. They'll eat pollen. They'll eat nectar. They'll eat living trees, dead trees. They'll eat dung, scavenge on carcasses. They'll feed on food in our cabinets. There's almost not... they'll feed on anything that's not mineral or metal or you know... so they're... you could almost say... characterize what they don't eat on easier than list all the things that they do feed on. And so that's some of the things that beetles feed on."
