"I'm Mike Quinn, I've been an entomologist for twenty years. We're here at the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin, Texas. We're talking about how to make a praying mantas habitat. Outdoor habitat basically provide a lot of flowers and flowers draw in a wide variety of insects and the praying mantas will typically hang out in the, near the flower and they're kind of sit and wait predators and they'll grab insects that come in, with their raptorial front feet. If you want to make an indoor habitat for a praying mantas keep in a generally about a gallon size habitat is good. And then you can put in crickets in there and by keeping it small it helps the praying mantas find the food. And so those are ways to make both an indoor and outdoor praying mantas habitat."
