Video Transcript

"Hi, this is a clip on how often to wash your hands. You should wash your hands as often as necessary especially after you have shaken hands with someone, after you have blown your nose, after you have been to the bathroom, before you eat, handling, if you're in patient care, also between patients. Make sure you wash your hands and not only wash them well, but dry them well. And every time that you have come in contact with any type of secretions, whether it's from the nasal passages, whether you've taken something out of your mouth and you're going to have to spit it out, washing your hands is very important because not only are you at risk from someone else doing that and handing you something that they've taken out of their mouth, but you are going to contaminate somebody else if you're not careful. So frequent hand washing is one of the most important things you can do. Also washing them properly. So make sure that you know how to wash your hands and that you wash them frequently."
