"Hi this is Jessica Claire with New York Dating Coach in New York City. In this clip we are going to talk about how to make eye contact. This is something that needs to be done very subtly. You can not stare. Staring and eye contact are very different. Staring at someone is something that one person does to another person without their consent or without a mutual sort of back and forth. Eye contact occurs when one person is looking at another person, the other person is looking back and a connection is made. Staring comes off as being very creepy. Someone is not holding your eye contact and they are constantly looking away, they are giving very obvious uncomfortable body language, then you know you are staring at them. However, if you give someone a look and they look back and smile, you can hold eye contact for maybe ten or fifteen seconds before things become awkward. Some people are better at this then others and it takes practice. Practice eye contact with someone that you know very well, your parents or your friend or your sister. You'll get better and better. This is Jessica Claire in New York City."
