"Dial up connections. Dial up connection requires telephone lines in your home. It also requires a modem like this being installed, this modem card is actually installed into your computer. This part sticks out at the back, your telephone jack will go into one of these and your computer will go into the other one. This allows your computer to send and receive digital information over your phone line. Advantages and disadvantages; the access through a modem like this is cost-effective. It only costs maybe ten dollars a month and you just use a standard telephone line and these modems are very inexpensive. However, your, your download speeds are going to limited, you'll only get 56 kilobytes, which is slow. And also, your telephone line is in in use everytime you're on the Internet. Meaning, if anybody tries to call you or trying to call, you would not be able to use your telephone and access the Internet simultaneously."
