"Hi, I'm Rachael Richardson, I'm a licensed nutritionist and registered dietitian with Nutrolution in South Beach, Florida. In this clip we're going to talk about getting more antioxidants into your diet. Now you've probably heard of antioxidants, and just to give you an idea of what they are, they're those very, very rich nutrients that we haven't defined yet as vitamins or minerals, and they play a major role in neutralizing the free radicals that enter your body through environmental poisons like smoke and other chemicals in the air, as well as free radicals that come into your body through our food. And so in order to neutralize all those free radicals, we need more antioxidants. So the best way that you can get more antioxidants is by upping your fruit and vegetable intake. Specifically your different fruit and vegetables that have all the different colors of the rainbow. So thinking about a nice salad with romaine lettuce, purple cabbage, carrots, beets, tomatoes, topped with basil and some nuts which actually provide some antioxidants too, your vitamin E. Now to go along side that or for snacks, I highly recommend adding something like this. A red drink and or a green drink, and these are just loaded with different kinds of antioxidants from fruits and vegetables. This has been Rachael with Nutrolution in South Beach, Florida."
