"Hi! My name is Mike Becks. I'm with LeaderBoard Tournament systems in Orlando, and we're here on behalf of Expert Village. Today we're going to talk about how to get players for your golf tournament. There are 6 items that we're going to talk about; first one being promote your event. Promote it in the media. Get your tournament, chair people, and have the contact the media. If you don't have expertise on your committees then go to someone who does have expertise, and either pay for it or trade it out. It's going to be the more important ingredient of getting players. Next, to prepare an attractive brochure and make sure that it gets out in many locations. Locations such as golf shops, golf courses, driving ranges, even retail establishments if necessary. Prepare a tournament website. The website is going to give you great visibility. It's going to give you great flexibility so that you can change information from time to time. You can provide all the information that the golfers are going to need, and you can also show what all the contests and prizes are going to be. Next, get your business friends to promote it with their friends, their vendors, their business associates. Lastly, contact a list of the golf associations and golf organizations locally. They have serious golfers that enjoy playing in these kinds of events; particularly if there's prizes involved. Thank you."
