Series Summary

Golf is a social sport. It brings people of all ages together to share in the same frustration: getting a little ball into a hole. Like most sports, golf is enhanced with companions. For instance, who will believe you made that birdie on the 4th hole if no one was there? Friends not only promote bragging rights, they also help you cope with your tipple boggy. For this reason (and many others), golf has evolved into one of the most popular games around. Golf has been played for centuries, and though there is the obvious appeal of competition, it is by no means the only reason to play the game. Today, charity golf tournaments are extremely popular and very successful. People love coming together to play the game especially if it is for a good cause.

"Hi! I'm Mike Becks and I'm with LeaderBoard Tournament systems of Orlando. We're here at beautiful Metro West Golf Course in Orlando on behalf of Expert Village. In this segment, we'd like to talk about how to choose the right location for your golf tournament. First thing is there will be 6 points. The first one begins by defining your event. You can't select a location without knowing that your budgeting constraints are and the end of the event, what you're trying to strive for financially. The next thing is consider the time of the year that you intend on hosting the event. By making slight adjustments to one or more of the courses that you're considering, may make a significant difference in the cost associated with your event. Get proposals from at least 3 courses. You will find that in talking to the different tournament organizers at the course, you will learn different unique aspects of each course. Certainly the driving distance from your base of players is an important consideration. Ten miles or greater you need to consider there must be significant savings for you to consider longer than that. Next item, number 5, is to research the key items that you need to consider for your event. Items for example, the rain policy of the course. Will they allow donated beverages? If so, is there a cost or what cost is involved? What's the minimum number of players that you need to have in order to get the preferred rate? The next item is get all details in writing. Ask them to write a proposal for you so there's no confusion. Then finally, if you don't ask you won't get. If you're looking for special considerations, don't be afraid to ask."
