"Chess is a game of mental chess, it's been said. And the question is, how to move in with your girlfriend. This is Doctor Paul, author of Boomer Girls, a Boomer Woman's Guide to Men and Dating, and host of Ask Doctor Paul. I would say that moving in with your girlfriend is largely a game of mental chess. You want it, and she wants it, and now it has to be concerning her interest in it. And the time frame, and where are you going from here? You're going to have to ask, "Where have we been? Where are we now, and where are we going?" Now, it's a doable thing if you touch all the bases, and it's doable if you have a rapport with each other. Try it for weekends first. Please trust me on this one. You don't really know another person until you live with them. Believe that, okay? Please understand that. We're not talking about a meaningful, overnight relationship here. We're talking about moving in with someone and living with them 24/7. All right? Now therein lies the key to success. Get started on weekends first. This is Doctor Paul. May your fantasies of today be your realities of tomorrow."
