"Hello in this segment we're going to cover installing the vapor barrier or weatherproofing for the sliding glass door. Now you'll want to check with your local building code and find out specifically for your area and your climate what your requirements are. It varies from location to location, state to state depending on weather and other environments. What we are going to be using is a heavy about 30 pound felt paper and basically what we want to do is start up top and just wrap felt paper around the exposed wood area, staple in place. We will bring one piece starting with the center, come down the sides a little ways and nail it off. Then we'll run two verticals down to the end so it overlaps and then we'll do the bottom and we'll give a couple layers on the bottom and once we get that all secure then we'll be prepared to install the door. So we'll start with an upper piece first. Basically what I did is just start from the middle, held it in place, tacked it in, stapled down the inside layer all the way around and then I'm going to go back and in your installation instructions it will show you how to cut the corners so you get your proper overlap to not leave any exposed wood. I went ahead and finished wrapping our vapor barrier all the way around and now that we have got that done the next step is installing the door. Please watch our next segment on installing a door."
