"Hello in this segment we are going to cover preinspection. Basically at this point what we want to do is find out as much information as we possibly can about how this door is mounted and the dimensions of how it is mounted and what it is mounted to so we can compare that with the new door and insure that everything is going to line up correctly and if not we can make the necessary adjustments, changes and material required to accomplish that so we have a smooth insulation process and we don't end up with a door out finding out we don't have the right materials, tools, or necessary items to complete the project. So as you can see we have already removed some of the material and in this case we want to go back with the same material so we can keep the continuity of the house. It is an older house and it is just a lap cedar siding which is extremely expensive to get and can turn into a waste some time. It is not always readily available especially the VG, vertical grain clear. So you want to when you are removing to get accessibility to inspect it, any time you have material that is caulked in, you want to take a razor knife and slice down the caulk before you attempt to remove the material. That acts as kind of a glue and that will help to allow you to remove the board without any obstruction and help to alleviate the possibility of the board cracking and splitting and causing damage to it during removal. Basically we have just removed enough of the material around the door so we can get a good inspection all the way around, see exactly how the door itself was mounted, what they used to mount it, make all the necessary measurements for the exterior sizes, the depth of how back set it, back set out, what type of mounting it used, whether it was a flange mount or interior screws, the base fill could be a flange mount style or flange removed and that needs to be determined. That will conclude part one of our preinspection procedure. Please watch our next segment on the continuing preinspection procedure part two."
