"iMovie is a registered trademark of Apple. I am in no way affiliated with Apple. In this clip we are going to begin importing video footage into an iMovie project. Now, in a previous clip I showed you how to connect your video camera to your computer. When you open iMovie, if there is a camera connected via firewire to your computer, or USB for that matter, iMovie will automatically recognize that and it will open up the movie import window. This blue screen here that you see. Now, most of the time you will not want this because there is no way to access any other controls while this window is open. You may not be ready to import your footage yet, and you may want to start a new project before you begin importing. So, let us close this by hitting done. Now, you can always reopen that movie import window in one of three ways. You can come up where it says file and hit import from camera. Or, you can hit Cmnd I. But, perhaps the easiest way to do it is to go this little icon here that looks like a camera and that is your import tool. Click that and you will see the blue window again."
