"iMovie is a registered trademark of Apple. I am in no way affiliated with Apple. In this clip, we'll be looking at the iMovie interface. When you first open up iMovie, you'll be greeted with the screen that you see here. Now, this is your main iMovie window, and pretty much everything you need to accomplish in iMovie can be accessed via this window here. In the lower left corner is your event library. Basically, when you import video footage into iMovie this is where you'll organize it. Once the video footage is imported it appears in this large gray box area here. This is where all your source video will appear, and it'll be in little tiny thumbnails, so you'll be able to go through it very quickly and cut it up, arrange it, and you bring it into this area here. This is your project window. This is where you'll actually put together the video. You'll take your source video, you'll cut it up, and you'll arrange it in a sequence in this project window here. This is where you'll assemble your finished piece, and you view it from here. Over here is your project library. As you start working on projects in iMovie they will appear here; all the different projects that you started and worked on. And this main black area here is your viewer. This is where you'll see your video, you'll play back the video that you've arranged in your project window, and you could also view your source video in this large window here, so anytime you're looking at video it's going to be playing in this viewer window here. The best way to show you what all these controls and all these areas do is to actually start working on a project, so let's get started importing some footage."
