"Let's play our A flat major scale again. Now let's go over our second scale degree which is B flat. It is the second finger on the G string. That's our B flat. Now let's go up from our first scale degree which is A flat. Between A flat and B flat is a whole step because between one and two in a major scale is always a whole step. Let's try that again. First scale degree, second scale degree, B flat. That's all you need to know to tackle scale degrees one and two."
