"First, let's play our A flat major scale. Starts off with your first finger on the G string. That's our A flat major scale. Now, let's go over the first degree to the A flat major scale, which is our first finger on the G string. Remember, it's a low one, not a high one. The high one would be A natural; this is a A flat for a first scale degree. Now, between our first and second scale degree is always going to be a whole step, okay? Because remember, in a major scale, no matter what major scale it is, half steps are only between three and four and seven and eight."
