"Cheekwood was built between nineteen twenty nine and nineteen thirty two in Nashville Tennessee. Eight miles southwest of downtown Nashville. Since nineteen sixty it has been the home of the only botanical garden in Nashville. Spread over fifty five acres. It's quiet creek beds, green forests and sloping meadows are a perfect setting. Each garden displays the rich variety of plant life available in middle Tennessee. The Robertson Ellis garden is a crowd favorite all year round. The colors of the flowers are stunning and the covered layout along the sidewalk moves the eye. The Burr terrace garden in stark contrast uses layers of ferns and modern sculpture to accent the rustic quality of the Nashville wilderness. With all the different garden types from seasonal to year round, Cheekwood botanical gardens represents the beauty of Tennessee. Tours of these gardens are offered with advanced notice. It's also an option to stroll at your own pace. The gardens are always changing and growing so just like nature itself the gardens will never get old."
