Step 1
Start with a chain of any length. Insert the hook into the second chain from the hook. The two skipped chains are called the 'turning chain', and oftentimes count at the first stitch in the beginning of that row.
-
Step 2
Wind the yarn around the hook counter-clockwise.
-
Step 3
Draw the look that you just made through the chain. You now have 2 loops on the hook.
-
Step 4
Wind the yarn around the hook counter-clockwise like before.
-
Step 5
Draw the yarn up though BOTH of the two loops on the hook. You are now left with one loop. This is one single crochet stitch.
-
Step 6
Insert the hook from back to front. Repeat 2-6 as needed.
-
Step 7
When you reach the end of the row, trun you work, keeping the hook in your right hand, and work 2 chains. This will count as your first single crochet stitch of the next row.
-
Step 8
Skip the first stitch and insert the hook back to front into the second stitch. Repeat 2-6 till row is completed, and then repeat step 7 and 8
