Instructions
  1. Step 1

    boil the thoor dal in two cups of water till it is cooked.
    then separate the water and crush the dal well to make it a paste.
    keep the water and dal paste aside.

  2. Step 2

    Extract tamarind pulp with 1.5 cups of water

  3. Step 3

    Put tamarind pulp in a vessel with asafoetida, rasam powder, curry leaves, coriander leaves, and salt to taste and bring to a boil.
    allow to simmer for a few minutes until the tamarind loses its raw flavor.

  4. Step 4

    Add quartered tomatoes, water from the biled dal and the dal paste to the above mixture and bring it to a boil.
    then remove it from fire.

  5. Step 5

    Heat a little oil and add mustard seeds, till the seeds crackle.
    then add it to the rasam.You are now ready to serve it!!!
