  1. Step 1

    Keep a pad that includes your selling points next to the phone.

    The notes will assist you in remembering your experience and qualifications.

  2. Step 2

    Dress as though you are going to an in person interview.

    Doing so will put you in a professional mindset.

  3. Step 3

    Keep your mouth next to the receiver.

    Enunciate your words.

    Smile. It will "show" through the phone.

  4. Step 4

    Turn off call waiting.

    Don't have animals or children in the room.

    Don't smoke, chew gum, or drink.

  5. Step 5

    Offer short, concise responses. You don't want to lose the interview.

    Shorter than an in person interview.
