Step 1
DECIDE: Is this your contribution to the world--to yourself. Do you feel this is something you can be the best at? If so, make the decision you will make it happen no matter what others tell you that you can or can't do. If you can't make the decision you are already defeated!
-
Step 2
COMMITT: After making the decision you MUST committ! It means creating realistic goals to begin with and setting the bar higher each time. Many little success will lead to larger success that ultimately lead to the biggest success in your life--arriving at your goal. There is no looking back--only moving forward a little more each day. Life is designed to stop you in your tracks and make you rethink everything you do. You have to beat the distractions, jump all the obstachles in your way while staying true to your mission. It means there will be suffering along the way. Winning the lotto is not a realistic goal--leaving life to chance is not an achievement!
-
Step 3
LIVE IT: If being the best writer in the world is your goal--you need to live the life of a writer. It means a healthy diet, exercise and sleep as your mind is your body and it needs to function clearly and at it's highest capacity. Each day you will write and submit--write and submit--write and submit. You will create a following. You will develop your niche (fiction, fact, howto's, etc.) You will begin getting published. Your other plans in life become secondary to the passion you develop as a writer.
-
Step 4
BREATHE IT: People don't think about much each time they take a breath throughout the day--it's part of living. The average person breathes 21,900 times in 24 hours. Catch your self a few times thoughout the day--take a deep breath and end it on the thought you are going to succeed no matter what! You goal begins to become part of living.
-
Step 5
DO IT FOR YOURSELF FIRST: Before you can be the best to others you have to be the best for yourself! It's not selfish to set personal goals and achieve them--it is necessary! Ultimately when you have persevered and achieved your goals you obtain the greatest sense of accomplishment and this helps others by motivating and inspiring them--kind of like "I want to be like Mike."
