How to Apply Tag-Out Deer Mineral for Hunting Area

Video Preview

Summary: Tag out is a mineral supplement for big bucks with trophy racks! Deer Antlers contain minerals, two of these are calcium and phosphorus and make up approximately 30-35% of total antler weight. The amount of phosphorus in a deer's diet is also directly related to its body size. So, by adding these minerals to the area where your deer are, will help produce trophy bucks! Here is my husband Mark, showing you how to mix the mineral and apply it.

Instructions
  1. Step 1
    Deer Path

Select your area by looking for shaded areas that deer like to use to conceal themselves, preferably off the active trail by 6-12 feet.

  2. Step 2
    Mark's mineral hole

Choose the right soil. If you are in sandier soil, try to establish your tag out hole near a tree or stump.

  3. Step 3

Open up your container of tag out. Partially fill the container, reseal and then shake vigorously. The container will get very hot as the minerals become activated in the container. Add more water.

  4. Step 4

Continue to shake, then begin to pour in the area that you have selected. There may be some peices of the mineral that didn't dissolve, but as long as they aren't huge it is ok. For the 3 foot area that we started last year, we used 2 containers of the tag out.

Now, just let mother nature take over. When you come back to hunt, don't forget your camera! You will be happy hunters! Enjoy and be safe.
