Instructions
  1. Step 1

Depending on the size of your dog, bend over, sit, or kneel in front of him. You need to be able to reach his paw.

  2. Step 2

Have your dog in the Sit position and lift his paw into your hand and shake it. Praise your dog "Good dog" and give them a treat..Do this 5-10 times. Continue to do this thruout the day.

  3. Step 3

Over the next couple of days, lift your dogs paw and shake, after you first say "Shake" then again, praise and treat. :)

  4. Step 4

Your dog may automatically just begin to shake, or you may have to continue to pick up the dogs paw. Be patient and persistant and have fun with it. Reap lots of praise on them!

  5. Step 5

Keep practicing, once your dog has mastered Shake, then you can teach them "other paw" by using the same technique in training them to shake your other hand. Don't use the command shake when having them switch from one paw to the other so to avoid confusion :)
