Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Wash garment before applying patches to remove softener and to eliminate potential shrinkage. DO NOT use fabric softener on garment before application! Iron-on patches will not adhere well to any fabric containing fabric softener.

  2. Step 2
    Preheat Inseam
    Preheat Inseam

Preheat dry iron for 5 minutes on HIGH setting. DO NOT use steam. For delicate material such as RAYON, use less heat and apply iron for a longer period of time. Working on a firm protected surface, briefly preheat area with iron where patch will be placed for about 10 seconds.

  3. Step 3
    Position Patch
    Position Patch

Remove the protective film from the adhesive stay and position the patch on the INSIDE of the garment so that the stay is sandwiched between the patch and the garment. Use your own discretion whether to place the patch directly next to or overlapping the inseam or seam allowance. Cover the patch area with a thin press cloth to prevent potential scorching.

  4. Step 4
    Iron on Patch
    Iron on Patch

Place iron onto the press cloth and press firmly over the patch for 40-45 seconds. When in doubt, apply heat for less time and reapply if necessary. Allow more time and less heat for delicate fabrics.

Allow patch to cool for 5 minutes without moving, then check bond. Re-apply heat as necessary. Wait a full day before washing garment to allow patch and garment sufficient time to bond, then wash and dry as normal.
