Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Beat the softened butter in a medium-size mixing bowl with an electric mixer or wooden spoon until fluffy.

  2. Step 2

    Add the powdered sugar gradually. Mixture will appear dry and crumbly.

  3. Step 3

    Gradually stir in the half-and-half or milk until you reach your desired consistency. If the frosting is too runny, add more powdered sugar. If it is too stiff, add additional milk.

  4. Step 4

    Mix in vanilla and pinch of salt. Taste and add more if desired.

  5. Step 5

    For chocolate frosting, add melted cooled chocolate. Adjust consistency if desired.
