"Let’s talk a little bit about transporting a raft on your car. If you have a raft rack, it’s a little easier, but it’s easy to do without a rack too. It’s much easier to do with a cam strap, if you can get yourself one of these, it avoids you having to do any knots that tends to be where rafts being transported break down and come off cars most likely. This just fits in through there and then tightens down nice and tight without you really ever having to do a knot you can back this strap up a little bit so that it doesn’t loosen off when you’re on the road. We’re going to put the raft on the car and then we’ll show you how to tie it down. On three; one, two, three. So they’re always going to look a little weird on top of the car. They’re never very aerodynamic so you want to strap it down, you want to have the strap hold the raft to the car. So you’re going to make sure you go through the raft handles or one of the d-rings and then this cam strap here can pull it tight, nice and tight down and then you’re going to tie the bow or stern line down. You can do that with cam straps or you can do it with ropes. Just make sure you secure it to a solid piece of the car so it’s not just breaking off a piece of trim. You’re going to have a lot of wind resistance on the front of the raft here, so you need to take that into consideration and how far you’re driving and how fast you’re going to be driving also. "
