"On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Tom Roland and we are at Cottonwood Motor Sports and I am here to tell you about doing service on Polaris Quad and this is fairly representative of macho. This vehicle since it is fuel injected it has fuel filter in the fuel tank. It basically can be replaced but it doesn't usually need to be replaced. Some of the have a filter in the fuel tank that can't be serviced. Some of them have a fuel filter under the frame that can be serviced. And another thing is this vehicle has a computer diagnostic that only the dealer have and if anything serious comes up electrically, the check engine light will come on. And if it comes on and goes back off again, it's the intermittent problem and it will show a historic code in the computer that will show that it came on but it is not currently a problem. If you have a check engine light that stays on all the time, then there is a hard code in the computer and it needs to go to the dealer and it needs to be put on the diagnostic computer. We hook it up to the plug that I showed by the radiator cap and we can check about 20 different items and if it has a wiring diagram, it is a real useful tool. It is basically the brains between behind all the electronic diagnostic on this unit and only dealers have it. It's another reason that these vehicles are getting more complicated than they used to be. They work a lot better than they used to and they are actually very reliable in many ways. They are more reliable than they used to be. This is your first thing to tell you if something is going wrong and then after that, it is all the matter of getting it on the diagnostic equipment. The diagnostic equipment not always, but generally it will point you in the right direction and tell you what is going on. That is a dealer only item but it is an expensive part where most home people would never have anything like that. Basic services can be done without the diagnostic hardware. You can set you own wrench and you can do all of the stuff that we've already talked about and if you can do that stuff, as long as it is done it will work well for you. If it does need to come to the dealer, it needs to come to the dealer and that way we can help you to get it fixed properly. "
